The Yorkshire Intensive Care Conference was set up towards the latter stages of the Covid-19 pandemic as a trainee-led initiative, making up for lost time in education and wellbeing for ICU clinicians within Yorkshire & The Humber. Thanks to the support of the ICU community in Yorkshire & The Humber region, YICC has gone from strength to strength, and a one off Covid recovery event has now become a well-established and hugely successful annual educational conference.
We continue to be guided by our principles of delivering top quality education, encouraging engagement at all levels, and inspiring our audience. We will always strive to provide exceptional value, making sure YICC is accessible and affordable for everyone. From our first conference in 2022, we have hosted renowned speakers from across the country, providing high quality education to sold out audiences comprised of consultants, trainees and allied health professionals in intensive care medicine. Lectures have ranged from chemical warfare threats, the Salisbury poisonings and the work of humanitarian organisations such as UKMED to cave rescue medicine, emerging infectious diseases and the art of complex decision making. We are also proud run oral and poster presentation competitions showcasing regional research, audit and quality improvement projects.
Transforming YICC from a one off Covid recovery event into a sustainable annual conference has brought it’s own challenges. We’d like to thank everyone who has bought a ticket and supported and attended the conference over the years, and we also extend our huge gratitude to our sponsors for their extremely generous contributions, without whom, the conference would simply not be able to go ahead. We’d also like to thank the Yorkshire Wildlife Park for hosting us.
We hope to see you at the conference soon!
